New route to tour the crater of Vesuvius to see the enchanting view of lava flows.

After the typical Italian meal, we will continue our trip to Sorrento, called also the Land of colours and Sirens. A magical place full of history influenced by centuries by different cultures: Greeks, Romans, Normans, Aragoneses. Everyone has gone from here leaving its own imprint and receiving in return the fruits of a generous nature and the creeping landscapes of one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the world. Since the nineteenth century, Sorrento is a tourist town, a famous “Grand Tour” stop, when the knowledge of the Mediterranean was an indispensable baggage for the formation of the Mitteuropean aristocracy. We will walk to Piazza Tasso, the pulsating heart of the city in the middle of many bars, restaurants, shops and many people practically every season of the year, and climbing the local train will make a unique and unforgettable jockey before we return to Rome.

What is included in the Vesuvius & Sorrento Tour?

Most tours include round-trip transportation from Rome, an English-speaking tour leader or driver, free time in Sorrento, and a visit to Mount Vesuvius. Some packages also include entrance tickets to the Vesuvius National Park and guided commentary.

How long does the excursion last?

Most Vesuvius & Sorrento tours last 11 to 13 hours, including travel time and sightseeing.

Yes. Most tours include time to walk from the parking area to the crater along a well-maintained uphill trail. The walk typically takes 20–30 minutes each way.

Is the hike to Mount Vesuvius difficult?

The hike is considered moderately easy. While the path is uphill and includes volcanic gravel, it is suitable for most visitors with a reasonable level of fitness.

Wear sturdy walking shoes with good grip, comfortable clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, and bring a light jacket, as temperatures near the summit can be cooler than at sea level.

Can I take photographs?

Absolutely. Mount Vesuvius and Sorrento offer some of Italy's most spectacular photography opportunities, from volcanic landscapes to breathtaking Mediterranean coastal views.

Is Mount Vesuvius wheelchair accessible?

The visitor center is accessible, but the trail to the crater is steep and uneven, making it unsuitable for most wheelchair users.
